Instance & Grouping Loot Rules

Unless otherwise agreed upon by all members in a party, looting during instancing shall follow these rules.

First: All groups should be set to ‘Group Loot’.

Second: You get to win 1 Need and 1 Set, then you're done rolling Need for the instance. Once you win 1 Need roll and 1 Set item, you're done rolling Need for the instance.

During the course of the instance, group members are permitted to roll (and win) ‘Need’ once on any item that comes up in the instance, provided that the item has at least SOME use to your character (NOT an alt of that character).  For all other items, roll ‘Greed’.

In other words, don't roll "need" if you're a warrior rolling on cloth headwear, even if your mage alt could "really use it."

For Bind-on-Pickup items, if an enchanter is present in the group, BoP drops that no one needs should be disenchanted, and the shard should be rolled for manually.

In addition, you can roll Need on any set item specifically intended for your class... again, once you win a Need for this type of item, you don't get to roll Need again in that instance for another set item, unless there simply isn't anyone else competing for it.

Recommended for Instance Groups

External Programs:
Ventrilo -- information on our Ventrilo server can be found on the forums.

Behavior:

  • We don't care who you bring to a raid or instance. If you have multiple characters in the right level range, you’re welcome to bring whichever one will work out best you and the group. Characters are not permitted to roll need on items for other characters.
  • Be ready to start at the designated time. Have your supplies ready. Have add-ons and voice chat installed, configured, and ready.

Remember that we’re all here to have fun.

OPTIONAL: Rules for 20+ Man Runs
If (and only if) the above Instance-loot rules prove insufficient to avoid 'loot drama' during higher-level raids (should we end up doing them), we'll use the Suicide Kings loot system. Please see those raid loot rules here.

NOTE: we are NOT using these guidelines at this time.
